Category Manager

Your main tasks:
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies for assigned categories to achieve cost savings, efficiency, and risk mitigation
- Conduct market analysis and identify new trends, opportunities, and risks within the category
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., operations, finance, logistics) to align category strategies with broader business objectives
Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on performance, quality, and cost
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements with suppliers, ensuring favorable terms for the company
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, legal regulations, and industry standards
- Manage contract renewals and amendments while ensuring optimal terms for the company
- Work with legal and compliance teams to resolve any contract-related issues
- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to supplier performance, cost savings, and category performance
- Prepare and present regular reports to management and other stakeholders at Evatec on category strategy, performance, and opportunities for improvement
- Use data-driven insights to refine and optimize category strategies
Your profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in SCM & Engineering, Business Administration, Logistics.
- Background in mechanical and/or electrical engineering, Strong understanding of supply chain processes, category management, and procurement best practices
- Proficient in SAP HANA / S4
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Fluent in English and German any further languages is an asset
