Evatec is committed to sustainability!

We are pleased to announce that we have submitted targets to the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) for assessment as part of our commitment. The SBTi was founded in 2015 to support companies in setting emissions targets in line with the Paris Agreement. It is funded by different organizations, e.g., the IKEA Foundation. In October 2021, the SBTi developed the first net zero standard to limit the global temperature increase to 1.5°C.

  • In June 2024, we successfully completed data collection and defined a base year. The base year serves as a reference point to measure our progress in reducing emissions. The data collection included recording all relevant emission sources to create an accurate baseline.
  • In July 2024, our partner company ACT presented the final report. This report summarizes the results of the data collection and provides a basis for the next steps.
  • We submitted the target path and measures for validation to the SBTI in December 2024, with the target year 2030.

We are currently awaiting the validation of the target path and measures by SBTI. After that, we will begin implementing the projects to achieve the measures.

About the Science Based Targets initiative

The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a corporate climate action organization that enables companies and financial institutions worldwide to play their part in combating the climate crisis. We develop standards, tools and guidance which allow companies to set greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reductions targets in line with what is needed to keep global heating below catastrophic levels and reach net-zero by 2050 at latest. The SBTi is incorporated as a charity, with a subsidiary which will host our target validation services. Our partners are CDP, the United Nations Global Compact, the We Mean Business Coalition, the World Resources Institute (WRI), and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).
