Job Description
As Category Manager for Assemblies, you negotiate with vision and ensure optimal conditions for electronic and mechanical assemblies. You manage the category strategically, actively develop supplier partnerships and contribute fresh ideas for leaner procurement processes and strong benchmarks.
What you will be doing
- check Negotiating with vision: you lead price and contract negotiations for complex electromechanical assemblies and ensure optimal conditions
- check Smart category management: you develop and implement strategies for the “Assemblies” category aligned with our company goals
- check Keeping costs under control, processes in focus: you drive cost-reduction initiatives, evaluate offers, and continuously optimize our procurement and inventory costs
- check Building strong supplier relationships: you establish a strategic supplier pool for assemblies, conduct regular business reviews, and secure long-term supply
- check Leveraging market insights: you monitor developments in the market environment for assembly manufacturing and support internal teams with your expertise in strategic decisions
What you should bring
- check Solid education: you have a commercial or technical background and further training in procurement
- check Technical purchasing expertise: you have 5 to 10 years of international procurement experience, ideally in plant engineering
- check IT competence: you work confidently with MS Office and ERP systems – experience with SAP is a plus
- check Strong communicator: you communicate fluently in German and English, whether in meetings or negotiations
- check Willingness to travel: you are flexible and open to occasional business trips (approx. 10–15%)
