As an R&D Engineer for Hardware and Software, you take technical ownership of challenging development projects. You develop, specify, integrate and test hardware and software systems for advanced vacuum and thin-film equipment. With your expertise, you drive innovation and support both customers and internal teams with technical guidance.
What you will be doing
checkTake technical ownership: you lead development and customer projects related to hardware and software and coordinate internal and external stakeholders
checkSpecify components and subsystems: you select, specify and qualify components and subsystems and ensure smooth system integration
checkExecute and document testing: you plan and perform system and component tests and prepare specifications, reports and complete system documentation
checkSupport customers and internal teams: you provide technical support to customers and internal departments on hardware and software topics, including on-site support and training when needed
checkDrive innovation: you lead system-related research and development, monitor technological trends and contribute to patents, publications and conference presentations
What you should bring
checkStrong technical foundation: you hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Microtechnology (HF, HTL, FH, ETH, TU) with first experience in vacuum technology
checkExpertise in electronics and software: you have deep knowledge in electronics development, programming, measurement and control engineering and embedded systems
checkIndustry knowledge: you are experienced in vacuum and thin-film technology or motivated to dive deeply into this high-tech field
checkStructured and independent working style: you work solution-oriented, handle technical documentation confidently and are proficient in MS Office
checkLanguage skills and flexibility: you communicate fluently in English and German and are willing to travel about 10%
