For our research and development (R&D) team at our Swiss headquarters we are looking for a
Scientist
Evatec is a Swiss company with offices in the US, Europe and Asia that specializes in the development, production and sale of high-tech thin film deposition equipment for the semiconductor, advanced packaging, optical and optoelectronics markets. From the high brightness LEDs in our cars to the sensors and filters in our mobile phones our know how enables the world’s leading manufacturers to deliver solutions for autonomous driving, smart wearables and handhelds and high performance 5G mobile networks.
Your main tasks
- Planning, designing and conducting experiments to improve existing and conceiving new hardware and thin film processes
- Optimizing data evaluation processes
- Simulation of electric and magnetic fields, plasma properties, film properties etc.
- Supporting our BUs as a scientific expert for thin film characterization techniques
- Interdisciplinary cooperation between our BUs, product lines and assembly
- Generating IP and writing scientific articles for publications
- Represent our company on scientific conference and customer visits
Your profile
- PhD or Master (with relevant experience) in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or closely related field
- Hands on experience with material and thin film processes development
- Experience in vacuum science, thin film technologies and plasma physics are an advantage
- Team player capabilities are essential
- Knowhow about nanotechnology and related measurement techniques are a plus
- Skills in simulations and programming beyond standard applications are an advantage
- A creative way of thinking and power of endurance
- Fluent in English is a must, German is an asset
