Product Manager

Evatec is a Swiss company with offices in the US, Europe and Asia that specialises in the development, production and sale of high-tech thin film deposition equipment for the semiconductor, optical and optoelectronics markets. Your main tasks

  • Overall responsibility for the cost, functionality and the quality of a product with regard to the technical and market requirements specification
  • Responsible for management of the product portfolio and the product lifecycle in accordance with all BUs, Operations (manufacturing, supply chain) and Customer Service
  • Manage the stretch between product CIP (continues improvements process), care, sustaining of released systems to secure daily business (performance, lead time, reliability, costs) and product development to implement new features and to follow the platform strategy roadmap. Propose and initiate product improvements and developments
  • Execution of (strategic) product development programs/projects (incl. general product release plan) typically initiated by the BUs or by corporate to meet market release plan of the BUs and the Corporate objectives.
  • Management of product discontinuation and obsolescence in alignment with BUs and customer service
  • Tracking of COGS, warranty costs and equipment reliability figures (UDT, SDT, uptime, MTBA, MTTR) for continuous cost-down and reliability improvements
  • Responsible for screening and understand of competition, in charge for regular review with BUs
  • Provide and maintain a product configurator for each released system to the BUs to allow accurate calculation/definition of COGS and of the scope of supply
  • Technical sales support of the BU in the offering phase (review specifications, provide quotes for specials, modifications, etc.)
  • Technical service support
  • Responsible to provide and maintain the entire product documentation and to support BU with technical sales tools
  • Cost center responsibility and development budget


Your profile

  • Technical university degree in engineering or equivalent
  • Good understanding of business processes
  • Experience in project management and team leading
  • Solution oriented, pragmatic and service oriented
  • Very good communication skills
  • Working experience in international companies
  • Fluent in English and German, additional languages skills are an asset
