Senior Accountant / HR Administrator

Evatec is a Swiss company with offices in the US, Europe and Asia that specialises in the development, production and sale of high-tech thin film deposition equipment for the semiconductor, optical and optoelectronics markets. From the high brightness LEDs in our cars to the sensors and filters in our mobile phones our know how enables the world’s leading manufacturers to deliver solutions for autonomous driving, smart wearables and hand helds and high performance 5G mobile networks.



Leading & performing all functions in Accounting of our US subsidiary using a non-standard Accounting software (BPS), including:

  • Management of accounts receivable & payable incl. A/R collection
  • Enter, review and approve journal entries and maintain general ledger
  • Monthly and annual financial statements according to Swiss GAAP FER (similar to GAAP accounting)
  • Support financial and tax audits

Receivables / Banks

  • Monitoring and to posting of incoming payments including any necessary clarification re: allocation
  • Reconciliation of accounts receivable & bank balances
  • Establishing periodical A/R reports
  • A/R collection management together with Management/Sales and back office
  • Reconciliation of down payments, revenue recognition and reporting
  • Manage the financial administration of capital equipment & retrofit projects from PO to final payment

Accounts payable

  • To post invoices in ERP (with and without order in ERP), and ensure receipt of internal approval to pay
  • Management of overdue payments
  • Preparation of bi-weekly payment run, and present to Managing Director for execution
  • Filing of invoices (outstanding/paid)
  • Maintenance of vendor master records

Payroll and Expense Reports

  • Co-manage with Managing Director and back-office the Payroll & Expense Report Management & Accounting

Sales Tax

  • Preparation of periodical Sales Tax reports
  • Ensure correct Sales Tax charges to Clients and respective timely & accurate payments to State Sales Tax agencies
  • Ensure proper documentation of client’s Sales Tax Exemptions certificates

Corporate Tax (Income Tax)

  • Coordination of corporate tax reports and payments with external tax consultant
  • Support of reconciliation from SWISS GAAP FER to US tax accounting standards

Financial Closing

  • Intercompany-Matching of receivables and payables
  • Intercompany-Matching reporting and final documentation
  • FX-valuation: banks, aged receivables and payables and advance payments
  • Reconciliation of side ledger with general ledger
  • Support accounting financial closing

Cash Flow Planning

  • Periodical Cash Flow reporting and projections


  • Support the process to establish an Annual Budget and perform monthly and/or quarterly budget-actual comparison


  • Administration of Employee Benefit Programs
  • Periodical HR Reporting
  • Support the establishment of a concise company HR Handbook
  • Maintenance of Employee Handbook and Company HR Policies


  • Support Back Office Administration
  • Occasional business travel required


  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Accounting or equivalent
  • 2-4 years related experience and/or training with accounting in international trading, preferably in industrial background
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience with or willing to learn company-specific MRP/Accounting software (BPS)
  • Working knowledge in data collection, data analysis and evaluation
  • Ability to work with all management levels, and as part of an international organization
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow
  • Versatility, flexibility and a willingness to work with constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
  • Proven business acumen skills
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in German a plus
