I am a materials scientist and part of the process team in our Advanced Packaging Business Unit. Our customers are always looking to the future so my main tasks are the development of new etch and deposition processes for continuous improvement of our production systems and components. It’s very satisfying to see what I have developed implemented at customers around the globe. Outside of Evatec I do voluntary work helping foreign nationals integrate when they arrive in my local community but then I enjoy relaxing with all the outdoor possibilities that the Rhine valley has to offer.
After an apprenticeship as an Automation Engineer, I gained a Bachelor’s Degree Science in Systems Engineering specializing in Computer Science. At the start of my career path in Evatec I worked in software engineering but now I’m a project leader in the Advanced Packaging business unit. An important aspect of my job is monitoring schedules and taking actions to ensure we deliver on time to our customers. We have to be flexible and act fast to support customers even when their requirements change during a project. In my downtime I like to spend time outdoors in nature and go skiing or hiking.
I’m an industrial engineer and joined Evatec in 2019 where I am now Product Manager for our CLUSTERLINE® 200 platform. I take care of the lifecycle of the tool as I manage the different generations & related subassemblies. The CLUSTERLINE® 200 platform may be well established already but that doesn’t mean we don’t continually invest in new capabilities for the future. We can sell more new tools or upgrade performance for existing ones. It’s a great way to add customer value and achieve our goal for delivering machines with the longest working lifetimes in the industry. Being part of a team where everyone is encouraged to be forward thinking and creative makes a very motivating working environment.
After studying mechanical engineering, I started as a field engineer back in 2013 before working on secondment at Evatec South East Asia for a few years. Living in Singapore was perfect to learn about our local customer base through my work as a local Field Service Manager and a great base from which to enjoy the food, culture and explore the region. I returned to Munich as Field Service Manager Europe in 2020. Every day at work is different. One minute I can be developing a new training package for a customer, and the next I can be organizing an engineer visit for an urgent tool down. To destress after a long day there’s nothing I like more than getting outdoors with my camera and searching for that perfect shot of an amazing landscape or night sky.
I am a Project Leader based at our headquarters in Switzerland. It’s a demanding role where I need to use all my people skills organizing and motivating people across many departments – from Product Lines, Supply Chain, Business Units and R&D to other external development partners. It's my job to ensure projects are completed on time and in budget. Our technology changes fast and sometimes that means last minute changes in our projects too so we all need to be flexible in our thinking. When not at work, I really love my exercise but even more than that I love to cook good food for family and friends.
"I am a Process Engineer within the BU Optoelectronics Team at Evatec Headquarters improving existing production processes and developing new ones for our customers. Before joining Evatec I studied Material Science and then completed my Master’s degree in Microsystems and Nanodevices in Greece. Our work is demanding, as the markets are changing quickly and therefore we have to react rapidly to help our customers stay ahead. My work has taken me to customer sites all over the world including Asia, Russia, USA and Singapore, but that is part of what I love about my job too. With over 30 nationalities at Evatec, it makes a great mix of languages, culture, and experiences in life."
I have been working in this industry for almost 25 years - with Balzers, BPS, Unaxis, Oerlikon and now Evatec. After completing my apprenticeship as a truck mechanic, I worked in various industries including transport, mechanical and metal construction before joining Balzers in 1995. I then started there as a mechanic, gaining several promotions to become group and team leader. I joined Evatec in 2015, and I am now Head of Assembly. My main tasks are to lead the assembly teams and ensure that all our systems are manufactured and tested to be ready on time for our customers.
After lots of new job challenges since first joining the company as an "administrative assistant" I’m now celebrating my 25th anniversary at Evatec as BackOffice Manager. Our work in the BackOffice is hugely varied including responsibility for supporting our executive management, travel and expenses of the employees, and organization of various events. I love working with people so this is the perfect job for me and it's people who inspire me in my private life too. I've been involved in local theatre for many years and love spending my free time with family and friends.
I trained in the fields of automation and industrial engineering before graduated with a Master of Advanced Studies in Business Analysis. Since joining Evatec I worked in various areas including supply chain, quality management and operations. I am currently a project manager in the field of digital transformation. As part of my role I evaluate software solutions and introduce them into the organization.
It’s great to lead such exciting projects where I can see the impact of my work on all our companies around the world.”
"As EMS (Evatec Management System) Manager I’m responsible for the improvement of business processes and its great to see how the creative ideas in the employee workshops I run can bring important efficiency and speed improvements for the future. Before coming to Evatec I completed studies in design engineering and business administration and applied technical management, but since I have been here the company has supported me with further studies in business economics and I am currently studying for a “Masters” level degree. When not working or studying, I love to travel. It is a great opportunity to broaden my personal, cultural and linguistic horizons.
I have been working in the field of thin film technology for over 20 years, first at Balzers and then Unaxis before joining Evatec in 2008. I have new challenges in 2020 as I take over a new position as Product Marketing Manager in the Optoelectronics team. My job is to achieve the overall strategic targets from a sales and marketing point of view. Main tasks are regular customer and market analysis and I therefore travel worldwide to visit customers and attend technical conferences and shows. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, playing soccer or skiing.
As Human Resources Manager I manage activities like selection and recruitment of new employees. On a daily basis my job is also to support evaluation and development of our people to be ready for the future. I studied Business Administration and I am currently in the final stages of my master studies in Human Capital Management. Since I started working for Evatec, no day has been the same. The variety of topics is huge and I really like the culture. I might be new in this industry but as a matter of fact that makes my job even more interesting.
It was a great honour to be recruited as the second employee when Evatec first established its own Sales and Service Organization in China in 2017. I graduated from Shandong University majoring in Finance, and after a couple of other roles before joining Evatec I am now in charge of our office team. We are responsible for order processing, logistics, finance, HR, events and administration. I really admire the team work spirit and generally believe in the philosophy “ trust your buddies- if you want to go fast, go alone, if you want to go far, go together.” When I am not working i like to relax with a book and a cup of tea. If you add a cake, it’s a fantastic weekend.
After a physics degree at the University of Freiburg I completed my PhD thesis at ETH. Today I am in charge of our Evatec Competence Lab (ECL), a great new cleanroom facility of more than 2500 m2 where we help our customers fast-track their new process development. It was great to be given responsibility for the whole project from the beginning - everything from building up the laboratory with all the machines, the team to run it, the measurement equipment we needed and even the new software platform to track all our samples. When not working I love outdoor sports and smashing the ball on the squash court with other friends from Evatec.
I am a senior scientist with our multidisciplinary Solutions Design team working across all Evatec business units. We aim to give our customers the lead through continuous development of better manufacturing hardware and processes for their new device developments. In joining Evatec in 2010 I switched sides from using thin film deposition tools to manufacturing them and the day to day user perspective I brought with me certainly helps me in my job today. My work takes me on visits to customers, research partners and conferences around the world as I present our technology developments and learn from other experts in our field. Then when I’m home again there’s nothing I enjoy more than being outside in the swiss countryside with my family.
